LCD TV
« on: 25 June 2009, 19:17:42 »

As seen on the Argos end of catologue offers on TV.  As I need a new TV for setting up sky HD then I wondered what members thought of this.

TIA.   :y

Just parted with my last TV, a 26" Hitachi, paid £429 for it 26 years ago.  Only thing that went wrong was the transforer/on-off button.

Cant see this one lasting 26/27 years though

Hope you have measured the gap where its going,as it can be deceiving.Nearly caught me out when i bought one not to long back.Originally wanted a 42" but at the time they only had the 37" in the one we wanted,so when we got it back,it only just fitted perfect, but if would have had the bigger one we would have been in trouble even though i measured it. :y

It's made (under license) by a company called Vestel (aka Bush).

Contrast Ratio - Crap
Viewing Angle - Crap
Response Time - Crap
Overscan Disable - Not possible (Crap)

It's cheap because it's crap....walk away.

No probs, cheers. :y

I dont know what standards to look for in the way of contrast etc.

I actually fancy the Samsung LED at the mo, but price is just daft.  So I put a £400 to £500 budget on the first flat screen I buy and then when the LED's drop in price the 1st TV will go in my bedroom.

I reckon the 1080P Sonys are good but I don't know if the W5500 is as good as the W4500

Not quite in the budget that I want to pay at the moment though Martin

I dont mind paying for quality, but for the money that I have mentioned I at least want a 37"

You ain't gonna get a "decent" 42" 1080p set for £399 Skruntie, you need to stick at least another £100 on that before you even have the pilot alight..let alone start cooking I'm afraid.

PS
The session on the link you posted has expired (that means it doesn't work)

Also rated the best 37" out there for the money, only trouble is that Skruntie wants a 1080p set.
