So now the question I need to ask, which is better for gaming.  LCD or Plasma
Easy question, LCD. Games are notorious for having fixed graphics, health bars etc, plasmas dont like that for long periods of play.

You've probably looked here, I don't think you'll do much better TBH.

I would have bought this to run the Blu-ray through but for the a/c condenser I need for the car and a digital camera both of which have priority at the moment.

I can justify the condenser without problem and just about sneak the camera in, but the television - not in a month of Sundays ::) ::)

In the long run you might be better throwing the extra £100 in to solve the problem :y :y

A great price Skruntie but I'm sitting just over 2 mts from the screen so a 40" is just too big 8-) 8-)

You also have to be careful with the larger screens and sd reproduction, a lot of stuff doesn't look too clever even though it's up-scaled :(

Been reading this lot-  totally lost. :-[ :-[ :-[
It was so much easier when Teles only had 405 lines with black & white  pictures, terrible sound & only the  BBC or ITV  to choose from ;D ;D ;D ;D

Good luck though Skruntie :y :y

TWhere the TV is at he mo is 4.3 metres from wall to wall. So my arm chair takes the focal distance to the wall down to about 3.8 metres minus the new TV what ever I choose.  So I recckon a minmum distance of at least 3.5 mrtres in my case.

....while the 37" is the size I would choose - if I were bold enough to make the purchase without clearance that is - if you can get the 40" Samsung from PRC for the price indicated, it must be worth the extra over the original price you were working to :y

LCD all teh way, the comments above about the plasma being better for this adn that are floored for real world use.

Pixelation is no issue, the LCD re-fresh rate is easily fast enough to deal with anything you can practicaly throw at it, the the darks, as mentioned before, are not darker on a plasam in real use due to the decay time of the phosphor.

And its 1080P all the way.....and not it must be P and not i

If you are still interested Skruntie in the Hitachi set about which you started this thread, then Argos have just e-mailed me to state that more, but limited, stock has been received into their warehouses :y :y
