Who's watching who?
« on: 05 July 2009, 23:00:49 »

Lisa Greenwood, an office administrator at the Department of Children, Schools and Families, posted an anonymous message on the internet at the height of the furore over abuse of the second home allowances.

Miss Greenwood, from Widnes in Cheshire, had been angered by Miss Blears's ability to avoid paying capital gains tax on the sale of her designated second home.

On May 13, Miss Greenwood wrote on the internet of Miss Blears: "How dare you wave a cheque about on national TV, saying that you are sorry.

"You are only sorry that you have been caught. You are a disgrace (including all the other honourable members). Why haven't you been sacked?"

The anonymous posting appeared on They Work For You, a political website, but was traced to Miss Greenwood's work email account.

So, it would seem that if you criticise the government, someone, somewhere is tracing your IP address, will identify you, and will seek retribution...

Miss Greenwood has been sacked.

I'm the only one...and I accept your apology!  ;) ;D ;D

Seriously, though, your right in pointing out that this indicates a general trend in the way the country is headed. It IS scary. I am sure there are people out there who are genuinely afraid of expressing their views on the net.  >:(

You may have noticed that I'm not in that category.  ;)

....passed, with great distain, through the bowels of New Labour.

Make no mistake Nick, the surveillance infrastructure now developed is capable of tracing each and every one of us, and our communications, to a time and place the details of which should remain within our own private domain.

Uncle Joe, Honecker and Krenz would be proud indeed.

With increasing worry I have followed events the last few years.

George Orwell didn't just write a book, he predicted the future....

That frankly is of no surprise, as I know everything in this electronic era is traceable and is / can be monitored by government "agencies".

Don't be fooled by any dis-information given out by certain representatives of those "agencies" and what they can or cannot do.

They are watching, listening and waiting.  'Smiley's people' are living and breathing, enjoying the new 'security before liberty' climate they now thrive in.

Having signed the Official Secrets Act I'll say no more for my protection, before they start banging on my door!! ;) ;) ;)

I signed the Official Secrets Act when I took on a job some years ago. However this "action" of signing is only a reminder that in fact we are ALL bound by the Official Secrets Act anyway as it is an Act of Parliament.
