Just an idea..

when you are filling the order form or any other paper

talk to the seller and definitely ask in case of problem

what are the conditions to change the tv or changing

with another brand.. and ask them to write on the

paper..

our "TheBoy" in job has problem with Samsung.. he send the second tv back for change :(

And since then its been fine....Samsung have about the best IRR and YRR rates going.

dont know these are eatable or not  ;D but I'm sure something good  :y

IRR = Initial Rate of Return i.e. DOA
YRR = Yearly rate of return i.e. warranty fixes.

Panasonic were the worst last year!

Well I made my decision.  Cancelled the Sky install for annother 2 weeks and am now looking round to see if I can get a cheap S/H TV with HDMI fitted or maybe even a computer monitor with HDMI.

The main reason I am delaying it is because I am not 100% that Sky will install HD for me, as I reckon there will be a minimum 30 metre cable run.  which means to me if I have to change direction on where the box goes then that changes the size of TV I buy.

I will get there in the end...........    Honestly.   I will ....    Really. :-/

i may have found annother way arround it.

I need a widescreen PC monitor and am a fan of the Dells.  The one I was going after is 1920x1200 res at over £400, but I just found these at half the price.  Also like the look of some of the other brands.

Both have HDMI, so if my thinking is correct, a HDMI equiped PC monotor will aloow me to have Sjy HD installed and tested, and if not viable I have a widw screen monitor for which I desperately need for my spead sheet work.  Currently 1280x1024  :D :D :y

If you have access to a costco the series 6 40" samsung is about £650, and comes with five year warranty included, plus i think 90 days that you can return it to store for a refund for near enough any reason.  I think its more than you originally mentioned spending (£4-500) but you did then say you may go to more, (i think?)

in any case dont rush, as already mentioned, as hopefully it'll be something that you'll be staring at for a good few years so you want it to be right, and the worst waiting should do is drop prices and introduce new technology, unless you subscribe to the Dr. Pepper school of thinking! :D
