I've got several very early Elton John albums which I'm about to copy onto MP3 format.
Irrespective of his personel life I thought he and Bernie Taupen were a formidable pair in the very early days their music and lyrics  on "Elton John, Tumbleweed Connection ,Madman across the Water and Empty Sky " were nothing short of brilliant .
I'm afraid I went off them when he became a little too flamboyant ,but he was/is good .

george michael is way better. elton wouldnt be as big a star without bernie taupin. george at least writes his own lyrics and music and has a far superior voice. imo. :y

George Michael isn't in the same league as Elton John - wake me up before you go go - i ask you  :-/

tiny dancer alone would be enough to be better than george michael  ;)
