Overkill
« on: 17 July 2009, 21:41:18 »

About ten minutes ago I heard shouty noises coming from outside. Nothing new round here but had to have a peek out the bedroom window.
Drunken youth pinned to the floor by two coppers, refusing to get up and giving it plenty of vocals (hoping for support no doubt).
They couldn't pick him up so up rolls another astra, that's two. Another, then another and another. Then the meat wagon closely followed by meat wagon number two.
That's five astras and two meat wagons. The lad looked at them in disbelief (about 15 coppers by now) and meekly went along.

There are about 20 of the neighbours having a post mortem as I speak.

15 policemen; 1 I.C male......all the coppers hoping he`d 'resist', throwing himself down the Bridewell steps and hit his head on a size 12 shiny-boot on the way into custody! ;D

Wouldn't mind if he was gonna get five years, but he'll be out before closing time.

I was washing the car out the back a few years ago when I heard someone running down the lane. Looked up to see two young lads (13-14yrs old) run down the lane and up the next. Loads of kids around so thought nothing of it.
A minute or so later, a neighbour comes running down and ask if I had seen 2 lads. I said yes and asked why. He said he'd seen them running out of his house.
I said they must have hidden in one of the garages as they would not have made it to the end of the lane before my neighbour had appeared, so we walked up quietly and heard them in one of the garages.
We got them out and walked them back to his house where he phoned the police. I left him to it and went back to take the car for a short run to get most of the water off before letting rip with the shammy.
As I drove back towards the house I saw my neighbour walking up the road with a couple of plod, another plodmobile appeared,  followed by another. No sign of the lads.
I asked him what happened.
He'd left them downstairs whilst he went to check up stairs...and they'd legged it. Oh surprise, surprise. What the heck did he expect them to do ?
Anyhoo, by now we had 2 foot bobbies, the two plodmobiles had been joined by a third....and a helicopter was over the area.
All this for two teenage lads.  :o

Reminds me of when a mate and me went to do some urban exploration at an old mine near here.

We left his vectra parked up at the side of a quiet road, and thought nothing of it really.

Anyway, an hr later we saw loads of lights etc round his car, and could her lots of voices...

So we walked over to find 5 police vans, and 2 T5 traffic cars!!! God knows why! Anyway, we walked up to car we explained everything, and basically got told to 'clear off'. They thought the car was stolen :-/ Even though the cops spoke to my mate’s parents, and they confirmed everything to them?  :o

No but we're saying that why does it need say 15 coppers to control 1 person  :-?

Steve, three of those cars came past me as I was walking down to the pub at 9.25. they were doing about 70+, nose to tail, in a 20 zone (Agbrigg road) blue lights and all and very wet road conditions, doesn't sound like it really warranted that level of risk (to them or the public).

Pat

(even worse, although we pay their wages through our council tax, not one of them stopped and offered me a lift to the pub.)

Surprised they got the whole length of Agbrigg Road without having to stop for a murder ;D ;D
