little help needed
« on: 08 August 2009, 11:24:28 »

sorry for writing here but I'm missing a lot to expected 250 posts to start writing in sales & wanted part of forum.

I've got a question to those who live in NI. I'm looking for cylinder head cover to my Omega 2.5 v6 but prefer to get one from Vectra (metal one). I'm looking for pair of them because I've got a leak on one of them and would like to change both of them for metal once. If anyone have them for sale could U contact me with price and how to collect them. Thx for help and for not deleting this topic. Oskar

The covers dont leak, the gaskets leak when the engine breather system becomes blocked and creates too much pressure internally. The camcover gaskets are the weakest link and are the first thing to give when the pressure builds up.
The cure is to clean the breathers (I,m sure there is a how to guide in the relevant section)and then replace the gaskets with genuine VX items. There is also a guide on changing the gaskets.
Price of parts is approx.£80 iirc. :y

Here is the guide to cleaning the breathers:

Here are some pics that will help you:

And here is the guide for the cam cover gaskets:

Make sure you only use genuine vauxhall parts otherwise you will be doing them again in the next 2 weeks-6 months....

Good luck  :y
