I think you have to paraphrase it with "turn it off or........" and insert threat.  If they dont comply you are actually legally obliged to carry out your threat.  It's true cos my neighbour's monkey told me......

Depends what kind of noise. I've had a sucession of noisy little gits next door to me. I've had to barge in a few times in the early hours. Managed to get rid of them all eventually.
The ones in there now are middle aged and he is a diy-er. Lots of weekend hammering and banging but I'm quite happy with that because if he's doing the place up, then he's likely to stay, and that will do for me :y

Perfectly legal unless you get caught, although I'd suggest using a stick with a bit more density to it to achieve the desired effect.

It would need to be really dense to have any effect where Kris is ;D

Right or wrong, i once had issues with a lad constantly playing his rap crap when i live at my old house, i had sopke to him several times to no avail......so as you do, i knocked the door armed with a pair of snips, as he opened it i walked in, pulled the plug out, cut the plug off the ster :yeo and walked out telling him if he wanted it back to send his dad around later............it did cure the problem, i never had a knock at my door  from his dad.

You could always hire something like the 3kw P.A system I used last week for the Open Weekend at work. 4 bass bins, 4 mids and a pair of tops.
Something like the 1812 Overture blasting out at 3,000 watts should get the message across. ::)
