The device itself works fine

I went to the tomtom site and then the pages specific to the go 300 model

(here's a link to prove i'm not imagining it all LOL!!!)

http://www.tomtom.com/support/solution.php?GID=1&PID=181&SID=0&CID=215&Language=1&FID=5327

There are a few forums that all state the latest release wont work....just trying to find a previous version

i updated my 300 today v6.52 ( wouldn't have done it if i had read this first) however , no problems, looks like its working OK so far, i have already programed it for my next run-out to donington park.
i do have 5.42 backed up , the files you need to replace are data.chk (1meg) , system(0.5meg) , and ttsystem(3.5meg) ( i think) ::)

i may be able to email them to you

I'm not being rude gents but you are all missing the point

the tomtom DEVICE the actual tom tom go 300 that is placed in the car is working fine...100%

Its the management utility you can download from tomtom website; that runs on your PC this is giving me and others aggro

Here's the link again but please DO NOT download this version

Sorry, I'm unable to help as I use PDA version.  Have you tried contacting TomTom, though I know they are slow to respond...
