The amount of edible food that's thrown out when many are hungry. I fully realize supermarkets have to consider legal implications regarding giving it away to charities etc but what a waste.
   I go on the premise that if it does'nt stink it's ok to eat.

Yeah.

"Best before" does not mean "throw away."

2-3 days after is fine imho.

Food never used to have dates on it anyway. People just used common sense to decide if it was ok. Tinned stuff is fine for years after BB date.

I work for a supermarket and the waste is criminal. The stuff we throw out....and not always due to dates.
