there are a number of Elites which seem to be registered as MV6-

examples include Mother Tunnies car, and my old Elite

Yes very odd, as James says mother tunnies is Elite Spec, and from factory was an Elite. But says MV6 on log book.  :-?

Does this affect the insurance premium? They don't need a lot to try to duck out of paying up on claims! :-?

mine comes up on insurance things as an Elite although it definatly isnt, a GLS with mv6 leather i believe. It also comes up as an auto...im certain it isnt that though. On registration its down as manual and 'special' or something like that though.

If they think you have a GLS when in fact you have an Elite, do you think you will be getting Elite money if you have to claim?
Likewise premium time, you ain't getting insured for GLS money when you have an Elite.

As always, the onus is on the policyholder to ensure all details are correct...and there is no lawful getout clause from that.

They will still only give you £300 or something silly for your car though after a bump >:(
No wonder in the late 80's there was young lads in RS Cosworths with no insurance :-?

Correct K, and the time to check that the insured vehicle is correctly specified is now and not in the event of a claim. :y

Absolutely Zulu.

When I first covered our CDX, it came back as a CD.
Mistake duly pointed out...insurance asked for an extra £24...I told them to go f**k themselves and listen to the tape as I clearly stated CDX in the first call.......7 days later I get the letter "Dear Sir, we f**ked up....you are now covered for a CDX and there is no extra premium,,,thank you for your business".

It's like so many things today K, you have to fight your corner to get anything.

It seems that a lot of these call handlers either don't listen, are too stupid to listen or can't be arsed to listen.

It's a bloody disgrace >:(

"Too stupid" and "Can't be arsed" fall under the umbrella of "I'm being paid minimum wage, so don't think for one minute I give a toss about you or the service you receive" (and you can't blame them for that attitude when they are on £6 an hour IMO).

The biggest problem is language, specifically dialect.

Agreed K however we shouldn't suffer as a result - I record all outgoing business calls now and any call received from a call center.

What happened to accepting the word of others - seems that it's long gone?
