If you did, then you are lucky.

To anyone else, please DO NOT try this.  To many brush and shovel repairs noted by this method.

Thanks for the input though!!   :y

nah i cant see that working myself especially not on the V6s!!!!

also the tensioners on all vauxhall belt driven vehicles is a weak spot and must be changed you have made no mention of your changing of the tensioner therefore the belt will snap very soon causing you a serious bill costing thousands to put right all this for the sake of £350!

The other prob with this is that it does not allow for stretch in the belt or, indeed, if the original belt was timed correctly in the first place.

Use a timing kit.  Its worth the peace of mind.......   ;D

You don't mention what engine, 4 pot or 6 but cam belt failure is due to the the failure of the tensioners as much as it is the belt itself. Your method just replaces the belt and not the all important tensioners!  ;)  ;)  ;) Also with a V6, can you be sure that it was correctly timed the last time it was done if you ued a garage. It's been mentioned a few times where garages seem to think they can correctly time a V6 with a proper cam lock kit.  :y
