Exhaust

I know Bosal are not recommended by some members but these prices, with the savings indicated, seem pretty good. Yes? No?

It is all relative... and their stuff is much better than Arvin Meritor/Timax etc

The prices are not bad, but it at the expense of quality. This will be the single walled stuff.

Personally I will pay extra and get something that is noticeably better and will last longer.

well when compared to Vx trade club pricing for a 3.0 pre-facelift saloon, the backbox is about £6 cheaper, the centre sections are about 2/3 the price of genuine though.

However you tend to find that OEM bosal exhausts like most other compatible parts are single-skinned - therefore noiser and not as long-lasting as the genuine items which are double-skinned.

If you're planning to keep the car then it's probably worth paying the extra for genuine parts (and the lower noise as a result!)

Looks like I may have to bite the bullet (again) and give blue flame a ring. Sigh :(

... surely someone near you must have a trade club card you can borrow - or get the bits for you?

I had a Bosal fitted a while back and have regretted it ever since. Its too noisy. Sounds like a MK2 RS2000. Can't wait till it falls off  >:(
Fit genuine.

My exhaust is also in need of imminent complete replacement, as it is just starting to blow.  So far the best I havefound is ATS which are quoting £290 all in with a 3 year guarantee.

Is there any other ideas, or really is the only option the genuine one from VX.  Since I'm new to Vauxhalls I don't have a trade card - is there anyone near me (I live in Suffolk) who might be able to help me out?  Oh, and how much might that cost / guarantee length?

Cheers!

get genuine Vauxhall one. The ATS type ones are utter rubbish, won't last, and are noisy.

ATS will be either Arvin Meritor or Timax. Both utter cr*p! At £290 bl**dy expensive cr*p too!  >:(
Genuine Vx at retail would be a similar price....

Genuine Vx system has 2yr guarantee but I have yet to find genuine system that lasts less than 6 years!

My TC card is out right now, but upon its return next week you are welcome to borrow it.
