I think I passed my test in 1967, and I seem to remember I used to pay 3/11 per gallon, but the AA chart says it hasn't been that price since I was 5.  Must have been 4/11.

I wonder if the other AA has an equivalent chart for beer prices, 'cos I can't remember how much a pint cost either :)

There are 2 AA's the other one might have a beer price chart as an attempt to put members off buying it.   ;D ;D

Sounds like a markets trader I once saw in Ingoldmells selling towels etc, he said he only made pennies on an item.

Then drove out of the market in a stunning Brown Interceptor and a stunning blond by his side.

Used to live next door to an airline pilot who drove one of those.  Different stunning blonde every time I saw him.

He once got stopped by a smart*rse traffic cop on the way to the airport.  The copper started off "Look 'ere, son, only racing drivers and pilots can go that fast".

My neighbour pointed to his uniform lying on the back seat... :) :) :)

76p per gallon in 78, rising massively (by comparison) to 98p per gallon in 79.
By the time I got road legal on my FS1E in 81, it was £1.60 per gallon, and it was only 4p per gallon more expensive when I passed both bike & car tests in 82.

From then on it was a slow but steady rise to almost £2 per gallon by 85, then it nosedives for a bit back to £1.70 per gallon by 87.

Since then it has simply risen by both proportionate (on occasions) and disproportionate (more often than not) amounts.

Haven't got a clue what mine was making at the back wheel, but it did reach an indicated 71mph down the "mile" one saturday night....just before it holed the piston.
