kickstart scheme
« on: 20 January 2010, 19:31:36 »

Anyone had any experience of this sheme which the local council runs,as i reckon the old lady is being ripped off blind. Its basically a scheme for people on certain benefits,e.g disability.low income etc,for homeowners. The limit they have is 30,000,whicc means they can have any work done to that amount without paying out a penny, until they sell the house or die.Well to cut a long story short they have been quoted £12,000 just for a new kitchen, and that dont include any decorating or boxing of pipework and even taking away any rubbish :o,so any views welcome,as i dont want them to get ripped off. >:(

I'm guessing we are talking a "B&Q kitchen" here?
If so, she will be more than qualified to give advice on being the recipient of anal sex should she decide to accept that price.

PS

Any trade that doesn't clear their own crap up should be avoided like the plague

Actually b&Q kitchens are probably better,as this quote was for plain conti-board units and doors and laminated worktops.Tiler wanted £300 labour to tile the floor which is probably only 8 square meters :o,i told em to tell em to stick it there arse, but i think they take the piss where it comes to folks like that as they know they dont have the money to do anything,so its either take their offer or nothing, and its quite frustrating knowing that me and my brother could do the lot for em start to finish if only they had the cash for materials. >:(
