Who cares? I don't waste time watching or paying for such bilge on the outside, telly is 90% pap & boring. Hardly ever watch the freeview, most nights it never even gets switched on. Am i really alone in this?
   Last time i was "away" was in 1983..82 & 81 before & then you were only allowed an AM radio (no FM) & no alkaline batteries or power points.....
    No toilet in your cell either, slop out was the order of the day!!!

Nope. I don't have a TV

my mothers friend who i guess is about the same age has never owned a tv in her life either.
mine dont go on much but have to have one for when tom is here. he drives me nuts when hes bored

They have to "rent" the television set (which isn't flatscreen at all, so ignore that crap comment in the report), and if they want Freeview on top (they don't get Sky or any other satellite based derivative), then that is something that they pay the full retail price for.

Would you rather the "luxeries" (which are paid for by the convicts) are done away with, or would you rather pay the bill for the tear up which will eventually result, as well as the medical bills for any screws that don't get out in time when it kicks off?

As said i hav'nt been away since my teens. Breakfast tv started when i was in HM Borstal Huntercombe & a 3month short shap shock detention centre before that in Haslar Gosport so i can't comment on how things are inside today as i'm not there. Sure things have changed since but despite that when you are away it makes little odds. I have telly/games console & hardly ever touch them. You don't miss the obvious either. I hated the regime, being told when & what to eat, when i could shower, hated plastic crockery & cutlery. What hurt most was the lack of personal choice with everything.
   Yes i was silly enough to get myself there & yes those doing bird have more than i did then but that is progression,  all relative, we all have more than we did then whether inside or out. For those who hav'nt been there good on you for not being as stupid as i was but you don't really know & the press/media cannot tell you as most of them hav'nt either.
  The loss of liberty & day to day choice is worse than loss of anything else..you have to have been there to know.

 in my opinion they are there to serve a sentence, ive been the victim of crime on more than one occasion. lock em up, bread an water,draconian rules for draconian people.why should i pay out of my hard earned wages to molly coddle people who decide to give up their right to freedom.eye for an eye. bring back the death penalty , chain gangs , you want to go against the law of the land then face the consequences.life might be safer an the world a better place for us all.sorry to those who dont like my opinion but this is my world as much as anybody elses , i work hard for my wage an my family an nobody has the right to spoil that fact.and i shouldnt be made to suffer financially etc if they do.

The thieving bastard wants to consider himself lucky, because if I had been Mr Hussein then the toerag would have been beaten, thrown in to the boot of a car, taken to a nice quiet location, fed heroin (intravenously) for a good 30 days plus, starved of what he craves for 48 hours, given another beating, then dumped in a phonebox somewhere clucking like a bitch, and finally handed a premixed syringe of a dose so neat he would die before he got the plunger fully home.

Mr Husseins mistake was thinking the old bill were gonna help him, but I'll bet he won't make that mistake twice.

Firstly, I'm not the one complaining that the cons are living the life of Riley.

Secondly, how I would react to a burglar in my own home, and the current conditions inside prison are two completely seperate issues that don't even come close to comparing.
