Back from the interview, glad that's over !.
« on: 03 February 2010, 15:36:15 »

Got there in plenty time and met the MD. I was "lightly grilled" on my CV, they went through everything. :-X   I got lots of technical questions, which I got right, but then he started asking time estimating queries like how long to do a job, and how quickly could you train an apprentice up, to which I replied it all depends on how good/bad the apprentice is to start with. I think he was wanting more actual times to plug in to his planning spreadsheet.

We'll see, could go either way, here's hoping  :y

Thanks to all who wished me luck  :y :y :y

That was a job fixing laptops, well setting up a repair facility. The chap expects it to be an easily quantifiable thing; any one who has fixed them before will know how some are easy and some are a right pain in the ***  ;D

Glad you feel it went well ..even if the job falls through you know you did a decent job....  it's always a bummer when you "know" you could have done better ...

Here's hoping for you ...   :y :y :y

sounds like he's never done the job if he thinks its that predictable. We get this crap at work, a job takes 2 hours all day long, same job comes in again and takes 3 hours as the material is differant and they moan koz you lost an hour, then you find out they ordered it differant in the first place but didnt know it would affect the alotted time, bloody managment mate i tell ya, esp the no time served variety...
