Carcraft scrappage.
« on: 16 February 2010, 23:25:38 »

Heard on the radio today carcraft are offering scrappage on "a selected range" of thier USED vehicles??? I thought the whole idea was to to buy a NEW car. I imagine the selected vehicles in question comprise of low spec versions of hard to shift models & unfavourable finance deals to persuade the weak of mind they're getting a good deal.
Given the time on my hands at the moment i'm tempted to go along & find out for myself, argue a deal on some pile of poo that i would'nt drive if it were free, haggle, haggle some more see if i can get them to pay to have my private plate transferred, drink free coffee...test drive? then tell them i'll think about it never to return. ::)

Definitely sounds like a ploy to sell on the overpriced cars they've been stuck with for a while...    :y

I went to Newport once looking for an Omega. When I rang they said they had 5, when I got there you had to have an introductory talk for about 1/2 hour, I checked they had five and went looking. Could only find one, it wasn't what I wanted and I managed to buy an estate of lower mileage and the same ages for £3k less at my Vauxhall garage with Network Q. The amount of BS they come out with is truly amazing. They made any number of excuses as to where the other 4 Omega's are.

It is good if you want to check that your car seats / pram / drum kit fit in certain cars, as they certainly have a lot.... would never ever buy there though.....
