Cracking downhill
« on: 17 February 2010, 21:03:39 »

Watched the womens Olympic downhill on TV. Absolutely amazing. The course was much harder than the men's and there were plenty of heart-stopping spills.

The worthy winner was an athlete called Lyndsey Vonn.

Typical of course: body like a East European shot putter and face like a bag of sockets (NWS):

...NOT.

I watched the womens snowboarding races last night, the races where they send 4 of em down the course together....that was good tv too, plenty of spills and thrills.....

One of em even went over the finishing line on her face......lol

Cross country for me.   Those guys in the 15km really left absolutely everything on the track,   and the African guy who came in at the back really summed up what the Olympic spirit should be about.  I'm glad they stuck with the coverage to the end.

The snowboarding does make great viewing though :y.
