Effing petrol station clown!
« on: 04 April 2007, 23:09:52 »

 >:(

Tonight, I have to take Mrs to airport (at 3am!!!). So, took the barge to fill the tank with fuel just now. I went to the same BP garage I go to several times a week, when I fill my Corsa. Went to put fuel in ........ nothing. Waited.... still nothing. Looked over to the kiosk to see some lowlife waiving a board at me. Read it 'Pay first'.

I walked over to the kiosk and mentioned to the guy who sees me nearly everyday that I don't know how much the tank needs yet. 'You pay, you pay'. Don't you recognise me? I come in here most days to fill up my driving school car? Oh yes, hello. you pay now.

No, you keep your petrol old son and I will go to tescos - where I don't need to be strip searched to buy a rather mars bar!

So, off to Tesco I went and will do from now on.

Just checked my receipts for the last 3 months and I have spent over £600 in there. So, they have just kissed my business goodbye...... well not yet.....

Tomorrow the Owner of this franchise will explain to me just why I should take my 18 cars, 24 7.5 tonne lorries and one Bentley there every day for fuelling. After he has kissed my butt silly I will explain to him just where he can stick his fuel nozzel.

So.... Mr BP Garage in Nuttal Road, Nottingham. You are a WINKER! ;)

See this........ This is money. I have it, you want it and best of all.... you can't have it. Git. >:(

(Not that it bothers me - of course)

I recently went to a Texaco b/c ASDA is a bit out of the way.  Soon after I got there the line stretched out to the feeder road, 6 cars down the feeder road and into a busy roundabout.  The feeder road is not only for the petrol station.  When I finally got done paying he said,"Thank you very much".  I said, "Don't worry, I'm never coming back".

Only ASDA for me.  Not just the price, but they are the only place that has Credit Card pumps.  However, hardly anyone else uses it.  They like the regular pumps where you have to go pay after.  Most British people just like to stand in lines for no reason.  Sense of community maybe.  :-?

That's cos the credit card pumps at my Asda are only 2" wider than my Omega and I have to climb out of the window to use the bloody thing - much more room at Shell  ;)

No big Tesco's in my town.

About the narrow lanes, if you pull PAST the pump you can get out!  ;)

I had this at a Texaco garage the other day, when i told him i was not leaving my credit card with him out of my view while i filled up he asked how much fuel i wanted, and i was to pay for it first.

He didnt seem to understand that i didnt know how much fuel it would take to fill up.

The other thing that bothered me was, if i pay for £50 worth whats to stop him shutting the machine off after £10 and not giving me the rest??

Tipped him 'dangle berries' and went to a different sataion, luckily there are 5 garages within 2 miles of my house  :)

We're obviously all to honest for today's world and expect others to act as we would. Unfotunately there are many who will drive off without paying - a full tank on an Omega is the best part of £60 - who opps the system up for everone else.
Years ago I managed to fill up and drive off - my excuse was being distracted by screaming brats in the back of the car  :o - I remembered about 50 yds down the road and turned round. We had your registration he said!!   :-[

Not much choice in our local town, only Tesco operating. :'( When the tanker refills the pumps the cue of cars streaches all around the car park.

Why do n't the designers when they build petrol stations think about the servicing of them to the detrement of the customers?

So thank your lucky stars that you have a choice of stations. Not so long ago the petrol station closed at 21.00 Hrs (( o'clock in real money). :(

It's just crap without credit card pumps.  You wait in line for the pump.  You can't move your car out of the way afterwards.  You go inside and wait in line again.  Then you can finally leave if you can get past the line of cars waiting for fuel and giving you evils for making them wait.  If they're out of fuel on some pumps then it's even worse.

Must be a nice business where you don't care how annoyed your customers are, and can't even be bothered to keep your one real product in stock.  That's probably why they don't have credit card pumps, they'd actually have to pick up the phone and order fuel more often.  What an archaic way to run a business!  ::)
