looks like the last bastion of independence is due to be crushed under the boot of communist tyranny!! - hopefully it doesn't end up like that London Evening Standard pi$h - free and paid by ads, i really don't mind paying £1 for a decent paper 

besides, what else can i read? The Guardian p'd me off recently by trying to destroy the Observer....FT's solid but dull and expensive, Torygraph is too Old Major - might have a look at it tho, I couldn't bring myself to read any of Murdoch's comics, or that pornographer that runs the Express and Star, the Mirror's garbage, The Morning Star? (is it even still published?) that only leaves...............The Daily Mail
