Presumably there's no interlock between the brake pedal & gear selector like our auto Omegas & other newer cars. Seems he had a very lucky escape.

had a teen ager took the car it's a different story.

Things dont add up here.  Button start mybe, but there has to be an alatm fob or key to alow the button to work.  Then theres the putting it in gear from park as previously mentioned, unless it was in neutral to start it.

Enough power to able along, interesting root, big bends etc.

Clever lad watching Mummy to drive, pity she hadnt taught to put a firking seat belt on before putting it in gear, or even starting the car.

Pity clever Mummy haddnt taught her stupid husband not to lets kids play in the car if it was possible he could start it.

So who gets done for the childs "Mishap"

I've been thinking about this, how did he reach the pedals and see where he was going? He must be a bloody tall 5 year old. I have to say I agree with TB, someone could've got seriously hurt

He stood on the seat, the shogun it seems has enough grunt to propel it at upto 10mph on tickover.  I saw reverse gear had been mentioned in the write up, and then he drove all that way in drive. 
To be blunt, if the car had been in park the kid surely couldnt have (in theory) been able to press the foot brake to get it out of park, or arnt shoguns setup that way like the Miggys.

Plus if the hand brake had been on surely a 5 year old would not have been able to release it.
