its the Lotus Carlton here, Carlton was always called Omega in Euroland  ;)

Our very own Omegatoy did put running gear from a LC into a '95 2.0 GLS Omega  :)

i'd rather spend £20-25k on a Lotus Carlton than any car I can think of  :y

As Tunnie said our various Carltons were (usually  ;)) an Opel Omega
Vauxhall Nova = Opel Corsa
Vauxhall Astra = Opel Kadett
Vauxhall Cavalier = Opel Vectra
Vauxhall Carlton = Opel Omega
and the exception to all rules ...... Vauxhall Senator = Opel Senator

One was sold with less than 20 miles on the clock a couple of years ago, had sat in a show room all it's life, only ever ventured out for an MOT and back.  Asking price I think was £20k

Same year the was also a brand spanker and never been on the road, think it had 1 mile on the clock, was on autotrader for £150k

My Opel Kadett 1200 was same shape as a chevette.

What we called MkII Carltons were Commodores IIRC in Opel land.

My dad had one of those it was a four dooor saloon in white PRA 477R and it was the Opel version of the shove it. :)
