Misfire but "garage" can't diagnose it because there is no fault code stored??  ::)

Offer £600, take a DIS pack (and a set of leads) with you and away you go! :)

And possibly knackered cats as well if it's been running with a misfire for a bit.

You guys are very lucky I just bought that Elite, otherwise this would be on my drive. £750, are you all mad? No beating about the bush here, buy it! MoT'd and taxed. Even if it needs a new engine (which it won't) you are lloking at 1 weekend and about £250. Interior, easy fix.

Battenburg the sidea and back and enjoy watching everyone slam on their brakes when they see you on th M1.

It's a runaround. Worth £600 any day of the week in my opinion. :)

£750 quid for a 7 year old ex-plod estate with intergalactic mileage (178K miles)......less than 5 months MOT, 1 months tax, major trim re-fit required (its facelift so like hens teeth), leaking cam covers, no cambelt change history......you got to be off your nut!  ;)

£600 for a cheap runaround with cavernous load space.

Run it for a few months (cambelt permitting ;)). If it fails MOT in a big way then break it. You will make most of the £600 back easily enough. :)

I think you would struggle to get your money back.....on a working car or breaking it...

remember, it has no electric rear windows, sunroof, cruise, leather, autobox etc.....manaul conversion is something of a limited market......

Not much else is going to be great given the mileage.......

If it was lower mileage then it might be ok....but its not....its an over priced big risk.....

You would also be loooking at 100+ for cambelt, 50+ for cam cover gaskets, 100 for DIS pack and leads (assuming it is that), 100 for rear boot space repair..........Just to get it into a working state....

I would say it a question of how good you want to get it, and what spares you have knocking about.

This has its use as a workhorse, not as a nice car.

As for parts, it does have 3.0 cam, HIDs, ABS controller, manual box (you'd be suprised),  climate unit, self levelling rear shocks, CDR500, maybe a decent condensor etc.

It may even have a  couple of police "bits" left on the car if you know where to look. ;)

I seem to remember someone on here finding the police horns had previously been left on one they had  ;D

Its a dead duck.......barely break even on breaking it........cost to much to get it running......not worth it when there are plenty more out there which are more desirable and cheaper....
