Police warning of domestic abuse

Why is this not publicised during other world cups e.g. rugby and cricket?

dont think its as prevalent in other sports - I know that after an old Firm game in Glasgow strathclyde police report a huge increase in reports of domestic violence, irrespective of the result - its a combination of drink, and heightened anxiety on the run up and aftermath....but mainly its the drink as figures show no correlation to the result (win lose or draw)  :o

its why Celtic and Rangers never kick off later than 1230pm to minimise binge drinking before the game - so its not just an english football problem  :(

agree with Banjax - this is an increased incidence of going down the pub/club to watch the match, stay later than anticipated, spend more of family money on expensive booze and generally get carried away, get home - jobs not done, kids acting up, meals ruined etc etc. Recipe for trouble.

Problem is with World Cup you go and watch a few matches. Was in a pub one day and a bloke's wife brought his meal in on plate with knife anf fork and slammed it down on bar - and that was Rugby!!

THAT'S GOT MY BLOOD BOILING  >:( >:( >:(

I'm sure somewhere in the Bible it says ''......thou should turn the other cheek''

'ANY' man that can hit or abuse a woman whether mentally or physically in my eyes IS NOT A MAN!!  >:( >:( >:(

If after a few drinks he feels the need to let off steam at home with his wife/partner he should buy himself a rottweiler & see what happens then  ;D OR better still come round & pay me a visit ........ believe hospital food is impossible to eat with a broken jaw!!  ;D ;D

Banning the sale of Stella Artois will reduce the incidences of domestic violence ;)

yesterday my wife returned from Truro on the Penzance to Paddington train at around 2.30pm.

There was a drunk American couple in their 50s already on train when it arrived at Truro ansd after a couple of hours started shouting abuse and generally messing about. This escalated to the woman claiming that a suitcase was a bomb - "come on you english deal with this bomb".

someone foolishly tried to reason with her and pointed out that if she had said this on a plane then she would be arrested. As this was happening near the buffet car, passengers asked buffet staff to do something which they declined to do.

Her husband tried to restrain her and she laid into him fully with fists flying and he just took it - passengers had to intervene and drag her off. It was an unbeleivable scene but dealt with no thank to train staff. My wife got off at Reading and it was all kicking off again.

The demon drink.
