The Forum Guidelines on the "For Sale" section have been reitterated with some keeness by the admins recently and as all ways state the following:

The For Sale sections are simply for that purpose.  Confine posts in the thread to relevant and pertinant comments, please, such as to confirm mileage, trim, history and the like.

If you have a comment to make such as I would have bought it if it was blue/an estate/manual/satnav/friday/whatever, then do so by PM, NOT on the thread.

If you think the for sale ad is worthy of further discussion with the forum as a whole (if its a hound of a car or something very rare you want to share) then treat the sales thread like an E-Bay ad, Dealer add or a post it note in the local newsagents - give a discussion link in the general discussion area and DO NOT add such discussion to the sales thread itself.  If the seller cannot or will not give a good description of their product, its their loss.....

However, in just one post alone in the "for Sale" section:

there is much comment that, to obey 'the rules', belongs there, even a few by a certain TB on the worth of Carling!! :o :o ;D ;D ;D ;)

A while ago Lizzie I had a lovely 2.5 Gold Auto Estate that I put into the For Sale Section with some pictures.
"If it was a blue saloon, I would have had it!" now that to me is just a waste of my time and his if you follow me?
I aren't the only person this happened too there was one where there ended up being a slanging match of thats a "crap car" etc......
The idea of the guidence changes is to limit this in my view :y

It was my 'for sale' thread where these comments were made, and I don't have a problem with them at all  :y
There are two main reasons behind this I think;
Firstly; I'm a trader, so frequently advertise Omega's on here. I'm not saying that because I'm a trader I should expect it, not at all, but the frequency I use the for sale section has a bearing on it. If I never used it, and only advertised one car I was selling privately, I'm sure I'd feel differently, but as I sell numerous vehicle's it's no problem.
Secondly, I know Tunnie, TB, Chris and every other member who posted on the thread quite well. They know how I'd react to their comments, and I join in and we all have a bit of a laugh. The first post is the for sale part, I really don't mind what else is posted  :y

Got to agree with Lizzue here, allthoughthe chat was not degrading to the car, but neither was it about the car.  It ended up being banter about carling lager.

So if Lizzie and me and up going from talking about snowflake pattern wheels on a car simon has for and I end  up talking about the wjeels I had on my Camaro SS.

Lets face it. wheels are car related, lager isnt.

Neither belong in the sales thread if it does not regard the car for sale, that was part of the new rule I thought.
