i think they are right to leave it, could be full of germs or diseases and i definatly wouldnt of touched it. and i dont think many people would of just picked it up and removed it either.

I despair for this country at times

Does not surprise one little bit. I live in a small road with 90% retred older people. We also have trees in the grass verge. council contractors come round to prune the trees overhanging the road because a delivery lorry hit one the other day. Now my 84 year old neighbour asked them if they could trim one branch overhangng hs garden. There reply, "if we do it for you we would have to do it for everyone" and then just walked off.

I can only hope the favour is returned to these people when they are older.

Took me two minutes to do it.

again, not all coucil 'employees' are bad...

Couple of workmen going round our road spraying weedkiller into the gutters,

I say "eh mate, dont suppose you could do my drive too?"

Ridiculous. I'm not allowed inside a container with a pallet truck to bump the load to the back doors but i often do. A pair of gloves, shovel & a bin bag? What do we employ these idiots for? Not common sense obviously!

thieves decided to pinch the red diesel from a truck parked outside. it had been hemmed in with other vehicles to prevent theft.. but the clever dick decided to remove the drain plug from underneath. not knowing how much was in the tank (proper drowning).

heavy rain over sunday night washed most of the remnant down the drain.

monday on finding the mess, h&s dept informed and after a 1.5hour journey to view the incident decided to phone the fire dept.

fire dept decision was to jet wash the remainder down the drain as     " the rain had done most the work"

even the trainee knew the damage was done and nothing else could be done. :-?
