Should be off to Reading tomorrow to collect a 3 series coupe, is it an easy place to get around or is it a pain in the arse?

Depends on what part you are heading for
I guess you'll come down the M4 from the M25
If you plan to leave at junct 11 it's a big mess currently with major 'improvements' & diversions in progress

I think it more depends on time of day.  Early morning (ie hitting M25 at 6am) go M4 route.  Any later and you'll hit the traffic between M3/M4.  Best if later to go M3 and up through the A roads.  However if you are planning to get to Reading between 9-10 forget it.  Wait until a bit later

You'll be fine, come off the M4 at junc. 10 and head for Reading. Winnersh is just off the end of the A329(M). You haven't got to go as far as the roadworks at junc. 11 ;)

If the M25 is a problem you can use M3 to Junction 3 and then cut across to A329M at Bracknell. Winnersh is easy from there. Do you have a Visa and are your injections up to date - yellow fever, cholera etc?

Especially in the roadworks 6 months or so ago. Got diverted all round the houses one evening. Avoid at all costs, IMHO.

Winnersh is easy to get to normally. It's 5 mins up the road from me, and I can make slough via the m4 in 20mins on a good day or out of rush hour. Easy access to the m4. However it was a total nightmare during the roadworks on 329m, and the winnersh junction, and the m4 10 to 8/9, and the still on going re vamp at 11, plus the still dragging on cone parking on the a404. Add in a foot of snow and winter/spring was a mare.

Reading itself is a disgrace IMO. Haven't been to the town centre for years and no intention of ever doing so. Avoid.
