Most if not all digital fuel displays are not to taken as read, they're only a gimmick. Anywhere below half i fill up. Does'nt do 'em any good to run low.
Glad you made it though!! :y

it's not something that you intend to do. you know a certain journey will take x amount of time/distance/fuel, and for what ever reason you think thats ok i'll stop at this or that garage, only to find that you get diverted because the m25/m42/a11 is blocked, then you have to press on to catch up some time and before you know it you're sitting in traffic with a little orangey/yellow light tormenting you. :(

Did you you fill it to the top? I'd be surprised if you got 70 litres in, which means you still had a gallon or so still left in the tank. I know on both the Omega & the crappy Astra that even when the light is flashing & screaming for e to fill it, there's often a good gallon left in the tank. ;)

I have allways tested a new car to see how acurate the gauge is, and the carltons /omegas have been very acurate.

The Elite, will if you go by the gaugr never let me down, I did take it past empty on the fuel computer to -11 miles and gave in.  So am happy to trust it to "0"

downhill easier, at least you can roll it out of the way more readily. though the law of sod means it will 9/10 times be when facing uphill trying to turn into a busy road with cars parked all over. ::)
stupid thing is, it doesn't cost any more to put £30 in the car when it gets to half way, than it does to put £30 in when the light comes on. :-X

If you run out of petrol in Spain you can (quite rightly in my opinion) be prosecuted.

A lot of road deaths in Europe, including Great Britain, are caused to "pedestrians" by passing vehicles.

It's pretty low all the time, fuel prices are crippling me in the BMW. Like to drive the merc around as that's good on fuel but the BM is comfier and better for long journeys.
