Why, oh why do some members of this fantastic forum like to rubbish others with modification ideas for there miggies.

Each to their own and everyone has the right to an opinion but here are my points.

1. The "OMEGA" is far more imposing in appearance in it's standard form than even the hardest modded "Paxo".

2. The performance of even the entry level "OMEGA" puts even the hardest tuned "Paxo" to shame as they are nothing more than French Peashooters.

3. How many "OMEGA'S" did the UK plods use in their lifetime. Now tell me if you ever saw even ONE UK plod "Paxo"?

4. Now we have the racing pedigree. The "OMEGA" won the V8Star series for the first 2 of it's 3 seasons in 2001 and 2002 and then went on to compete in the VLN series. What was the "Paxo" ever even entered in, let alone won.

In short

OMEGA vs Paxo

NO CONTEST OR COMPARISON!!!!

N.B. The Paxo refered to, for those of little knowledge, is the Citroen Saxo.
You've really lost me on that one because all I can see is someone rubbishing Citroen Saxos which kinda shoots somebody in the foot.

If someone chooses to publicise their mods on the forum I guess they ought to expect that they will not all be to everyone's taste.

Many car enthusiasts feel that authenticity is the ultimate objective, others that stamping their identity on their car is top priority.  Those two opinions are never going to reconcile on any car forum unless everyone keeps quiet.

I'm amused that the top of my browser says "lets be nice for a change..... " in the News banner! ;D
That is one of my pets, not the news although it still jumps, but the elitist attitude on here is sometimes unbearable. "let's be nice etc" and than slag people off for cup holders and part worn tyres or any other conceived low goings on.

We note there are few new members regularly posting, yet when they arrive we are exceptionally rude to them. WTF.  >:(

Ultimately, its the old old story.....

What some persons like there will be others who do not.

Some sit and keep their own counsel on the matter whilst others become adroit of finger and keyboard and then spout forth.

Either way, does not make you a bad person but it would be nice if we were at least polite about it....   :'(

Quite, be it paxo's, cup holders, parking sensors, part worn tires, speeding, the clique etc....same person probably welcomed them in the newbie section not 5 mins previos, then wondered why we don't get regular new members posting. Ah well so long as it's a nice place to be....hypocrisy!

Still, better get off my high hoarse now for fear of becoming elitist myself.   :D  :D  :D

I must say, I have urged Omega owners to join this site from other forums (when they have posted problems), and a few have PM'd me back saying they are members, but didn't like the 'atmosphere'.

Me, myself..... I just ignore all the shite and carry on regardless.  Let bitching be bitching.  Some people are over sensitive, and others are too care-free.  I'm glad I'm in the latter category, but have the common sense to be respectful to others (most of the time  :D )

interesting subject - I believe that it should be "each to his own" ( or "to each his own" to quote the bard ).

there is an obvious exception in that if anyone is doing something that is plain unsafe or illegal, then it should be "open season". I'm thinking specifically about bigger diameter tyres and the single wiper, etc.

having said that, if someone wants to do something to thier car, then it's entirely their shout - it's a big enough forum for everyone to get on.
as far as im aware, single blade conversions and bigger dia tyres are not unsafe or illegal  :-/

ive seen this subject come up alot of times on many forums etc and it just ends in arguments.... yes it is each to their own.

i love modified cars, im doing it to my mig, some of u may not like it and others might. the "paxo" is quicker faster than the omega - maybe not for top end on standard - but off the line the mig is too heavy even with a 3.2
the "paxo", because it being very common, means their are loads of tuning parts for it, various engine conversions that can be done, and countless styling parts.

mig Vs Paxo off the line = paxo
mig Vs Paxo on top end = mig
mig Vs Paxo on options = paxo
mig Vs Paxo on comfort = mig

as far as i can see its all down to individual taste. With that said, i have made my say on this and shall no longer post on this on the grounds of i dont wat to argue or fall out with anyone
