Is there anyway to find the RO of a car for free

Any idea on the above? I have a couple of cars that I need checking out?

I know about the V888 form which is £2.50 but I need a lot of cars checked :y

If you are after full, want to contact, details then this is the only (legal) way.  Misuse of PNC and similar direct access routes to computer databases by DVLA staff and similar can cost them their pension.  ;)
