Dels son posting this as my dad is driving, got pictures of the curb, silver scuffs all up the curb got a slight wheel wobble now too. Got the witness too.
What a bugga, specially the last day of the week before a bank holiday is here.
Right.- put me straight if I am wrong.
Decent road, not in sweep mode on way back to depot.
Parked - cars none?
1 Motorist saw the event.
Contact made.
Whislt trying to avoid heavy duty vehicle to allow him to drive round you rather then through you to avoid you.
Was afternoon as on way back

Ok, Might be a big piss up in it for me with this info

(Only joking)
Most sweepers can be driven as Left or right hand drive.
So, lets say he is in holiday mode and off to start his bank holiday weekend, been to the pub for a lunch and a pint or three and carry on the a relaxed attidtude towards the rest of the day.
On his way to the depot he spots a guy a beemer driving towards him as if he was doing it purpose (Lets face it the sweeper driver thinks all drivers of nice posh cars will make way for a mucky old sweeper) and he was right the beemer driver slows and changes direction (as expected) doesnt realise the fact the made contact due to size and weight difference. We know the rest on catch up with him.
Ok. Damege to 2 sides of your car caused by a single road sweeper. Sumup is simple, space left not big enough for width of your car so damaged caused. But bloody hard to proove.
The director says he will get back to you tuesday.
That gives this guy/situation. a chance for the driver to sober up, the company a chance to inspect the damage on the truck and if there is a scuff polish it out.
I personally think it is very easy the reason why it happened.
the lower you are to the grouned and dependent on rea/scenry/town/country the more aware of your distance from the kerbs/verge etc. Westfield - Omega - Transit - sweeper - Artic etc then a different veiw vantage of the road ahead for one, but more importantly the view to our left.
Now me as a driver focus on the middle of a single carriage road if no markings and am allways prepared to give way as no right or wrong if signs or road makings there to dictate.
On a road with a dotted centre line then I would never drive on any road with my wheel over thier side if traffic is on the same road of any thing was on the road for that mater and when there is trafic coming towards me it's just a natural reaction to allow space for the other road users acording to the road width. Lets face it we all know how wierd it feels travelling on our daily routes and realising how odd the centre road line is when we travel as passeners.
But consider this, driving back totally relaxed, switched off from the centre line as you are just monitoring a sucicede junky coming wards in a beemer, but you then relax, problem over, you saw the beemer move over so the white line got forgotton about. Not really a problem, Mr sweeper sat behind the wheel as normal, normal road position according to his driving style and totally aware of his road pressnce/size. It's so obvious he cant move over, he knows the width of the the road sweeper, and it's too big and exspensive to move towards the left as he has no space to do so.
So all down the the beemer driver, lets face it the road sweeper man knows he is doing nothing wrong, and has the last laugh as he does'nt pay the company's imsurance premiums.
