Even now, brand new cars still dont have all this stuff !!
Quite sad that my son knows this, but Chrysler first began using them in 1959, they then stopped and began using them in the early 80's again, apparently :-?
Alot of yank cars, Chrsler, Oldsmobile , Chevy, Pontiac etc introduced stuff way before the japs.
When I was valeting my mate was car trading and was a bugga buying the yank cars, have seen them with cig lighters in each door, vaum/air operated suspention, windows, rollover/flip up head lights. Electrically adjusted eveything even the steering wheel rake and distance. Power steering that a 4 year old could turn with thier little finger.
Also something I have never seen on europen cars, You know the big chrome bumbers you see on the old pontiacs etc, well they are mounted on 2 Pnumatic buffers like you have on trains. I one ripped an upended kerb stone out of the bround with 3' of concrete holding it in, had a feeling I had clipped it, there was eben a dink right on the coner of the bumper, but when I checked the kerb stone had been ripped out of the ground and was laid on it's side.
