santander taking the pi$$
« on: 29 September 2010, 16:05:44 »

just been checking my account for the month and it appears i made a payment on the 23rd aug for £52. that payment left me 27p overdrawn so the bank have charged me for this, £25 for unauthorised overdraft and £35 charges on top. i was back in credit 2 days later. first i blew off at a man in india, then a supervisor in manchester then a manager in belfast. now the charges are being dropped on condition i do not report them to the banking ombudsman. thieving robbing b*****ds  >:( >:(

Aren't banks great?

I got nobbled by Tesco Credit Cards last month for £25 or so I think for non-payment.. which happened because I made a payment too early and it ended up being taken off the previous months bill rather than last months - so I had two payments in July, and none in August IYSWIM  ::)

They program the computers to do so richie and they have no feelings, phone them up and explain and they may well refund you all the charges, just dont get knarky with them before the sort your account. :y

One mans overdraft pays your tiny interest, and gives the bank a nice profit.

They ruin the lives of MILLIONS of people with the banking crisis and then continue to take the piss.

Spanish banks are terrible for charging for everything. We have to pay 4 euros to draw out 100 euros from a different machine for example. Expect more of this in the UK in the future. The price of allowing Johnny Foreigner to buy our utilities etc.

Oh and the banks will be apying themselves monstrous bonuses in the New year and patting themselves on the backs again. Barstewards.......................
