here you go

Try clearing your cache and the site's cookies.
Clear cache: Tools > Options > Advanced > Network - In the Cache section click "Clear Now"
Clear cookies (only remove those for the site): Tools > Options > Privacy - In the Cookies section click "Show Cookies..." to access the option for removing cookies.

Make sure JavaScript is enabled, the setting is accessible at Tools > Options > Content
If you have NoScript installed make sure it is set to allow scripts to run at Google Maps.

Next check a couple of settings. Type about:config into the location bar and press enter. This brings up a list or preferences.
Locate the preference dom.disable_image_src_set and make sure it is set to false
Next locate the preference permissions.default.image and make sure it is set to 1
You can double-click on the preference to changes its value.

Another possible cause is the Skype add-on. This has been fixed by Skype and a patched version is available from SkypeToolbars - Skype Developer Zone

Andy try windows version.. I find it more useful..

and for your problem.. I also had some problem with windows version.. couldnt log in ;D problem was some ip settings in

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file

I add those lines and problem solved..(for windows version)

209.85.229.99 auth.keyhole.com
74.125.157.99 kh.google.com
74.125.157.99 geo.keyhole.com

but still cant activate street view..  :(

Sorry Cem. Far to complicated for me  ::)  ::)  ::) Thanks for the advise though  :y

Its really not that hard Andy...

Browse (Click from My Computer) to following location CEM mentions:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\

Then open the host file, and past in those addresses above, save and try again. Easy peasy  :y

And i gave it a go... now i do cam covers, shocks, exhausts..  ;)

What your pasting there is not dangerous, easier way is do this:

Click Start > Run

Paste this in:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

You will see this popup:

Open the host file in notepad, and paste the IP's in at the bottom of the text file.

To be extra safe, copy a backup of the host file elseware  :y
