Go for it Maria!

If you live in a big city or near a congested motorway, and it sounds as if you do, an automatic is the best drive anyway IMHO.  And you can always take the manual test later if you feel like it.

When the time comes, pm me and I'll send you something that will help calm the nerves.  And yes, it is legal, and no it isn’t alcohol!   :y

Auto is a good idea..i have a company car which is a manual and the omega is auto and i prefer the auto...but i have done a lot of driver training they do say supprisingly enough a auto is a whole more lot difficult to drive than a manual if you are driving a auto correctley...i can honestley say as well i never have understood that statement and i am trained to teach to advanced standard...So yeah go for a auto much better imho  :y

The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.

The biggest problem I can see with going for an auto-only license is that it narrows your choice of used cars quite dramatically.

Autos are also rare among the smaller cars so you might end up having to go for something larger and thirstier than would fit your needs. (and small auto cars are generally tedious, IME)

I would find a driving school that can do both, and see how you get on in a manual first. :y
