Will it or won't it.....printer?
« on: 17 October 2010, 20:56:42 »

I've just bought, 50 sheets of A4 paper/card....350gsm...

Printer is an Epson Photo 1400...

Will it or wont it be able to handle the paper thickness  :-/

There seems to be little info about on how thick the paper can be...for my printer....except epson website saying it will cope with all their own paper......no suprise there then  ::) but none of their paper is this thick..

Ive been using 280gsm photo paper without a problem.....and just found a 'tick' button in the driver for 'thick' paper, which apparently raises the print head up....so maybe that will do the job  :-/

Perhaps i should have stuck with my usual paper supplier who recommends max 300gsm paper for it  ::)

Well...350gsm paper/card turned up yesterday....and i had a play....and yes, my printer handles it fine  :y :y

I had the driver set to 'thick' paper and it gave a warning about only using this setting if the paper is 'rubbed', not quite what that means....ribbed perhaps  :-/
Anyway as the card is prescored for folding, it has a 'rib' running down its width, so i left 'thick' paper set and the printer seemed happy enough  :y
