Project MV6 destruction!

AFter a total of about 6 hours, Mark, Pete and I have virtually destroyed what was basically a working MV6.

Believe it or not, I drove around in this car 36 hours before these pictures were taken. Apart from the obvious, the exhaust is also off as is the gearbox, clutch and rear diff!

Brilliant, some job you guys have done ;D

What was wrong with it to deserve such unforgiving treatment?

BTW How are the exhaust centre boxes, worth posting?

bloody hell. That must have been a hard 36hrs!  And you still managed multiple trips to post office, and giving me advice on the phone (MID is much better - not perfect, but definately 'good enough')

Centre boxes were suspect when they came off, but the two front downpipes/cats are perfect.

Thats not 36 hours work, thats two 3 hour sessions.....plus Mr McB taking things off during the day.....!

Ow yes....but not running!

The ride height is a LOT higher thanks to the reduced weight!

Bugger... so are mine, it's the centre boxes that are suspect (or, crappy aftermarket junk to be exact!)

Yep, just to clarify, 36 hours is NOT how long this has taken. It is just 36 hours since I last drove it. The engine was purring 24 hours ago before it got 'Russelled'

Yesterday about 3 hours work and today about 3 hours, plus an hour I did before Pete got here tonight.

So from running car to this in about 7 hours.

I know, I know. But I did buy this one with two possible outcomes. Fix it up or break it. Problems were: Windscreen smashed, all 4 doors rusty, dent in rear bumper, wishbones gone, drop links gone, steering idlergone (Gawd knows how Laidback drove this 75 miles like this), rocker gaskets gone, wheels shot, 3 tyres crap....... Cost of fixing up plus final sale price did not warrant the work. Shame, it went like stink!

In parts it is worth almost as much, if not more. If only the alloys were better and it had leather I would be laughing, but then I would probably have restored it then.

Erm is the traction control switch up for grabs?  I've pressed mine too much and scratched it to bu**ery.  Oooh what about the fake carbon bits (always fancied them in my elite)?  Ah and I noticed 4 whole plenum bolt plastic covers, and a geniune expansion tank pressure cap.  Oh yeah and what is actually supposed to hold the spare wheel in place an omega?  Mine has a strap that is too short to loop round the eyelet and buckle up to anything so I continually have the spare wheel in the middle of the boot after spirited driving.

I know, i know - last of the big spenders they call me - but the little details are important aren't they...

No TC button as this is manual MV6. Carbon bits all sold, 4 plenum caps available, expansion tank cap available, spare wheel straps available. PM me for prices Liam, will be less than £100!
