Oh, no. Not more snow. Please.
« on: 22 December 2010, 22:51:35 »

According to Piers Corbyn, we are due to get hit again (mainly in the South) between Christmas Day and the end of December. He's been right about winter so far.

For contrast, the Met Office forecast is here:

Who will be more accurate?  :-/

that Piers certainly doesn't sit on the fence - very interesting.

my moneys on the Met Office :y

of course he does have the distinct advantage that if he guesses correctly he can claim "I told you so!!!" and if he's hopelessly wrong no one will remember  ;D

Fish makes for a good story, but its nearly always misquoted he also told viewers there would be strong winds and to batten down the hatches - in the end there were strong winds but there was no hurricanes in the UK so technically he was actually spot on when he said "dont worry there are no hurricanes coming mrs smith" or something :y

If I was Fish i'd be mad i'm made out to look like an idiot. pesky facts  ;D

Where I work has been badly disrupted by snow, as it is in an exposed, high-altitude location. As a result nearly everyone has been watching the weather closely from a variety of sources - BBC, Met Office, iphone apps, farmers' forecasts, council, forecasts, sky, etc etc

They're all different, so it's difficult to know what the weather will do from one day to the next.

I go with the Met office  :y

As Piers Corbyn predicted a harsh winter at the beginning of the year whereas the Met office predicted a mild one, i think i`ll go with him, he also predicted the russian heatwaves & the Pakistani floods months in advance with details as to what was going to cause them, so he is pretty spot on. :y

2012 is going to be wide spread floods, head for high ground, if not able to get to high ground you have a year to make an ark. make your plans now.

There was a small article in the Metro today stating that there would be snow on Boxing Day. Luckily I have the week off otherwise I would be stuffed.

That being said, all the main suspects were changing their predictions <6hrs ahead.
