Cruise Control Kits

What is it about cruise control kits?........

First of all, back in May Miggy24 took my £40 bank transfer and informed me that he had sent the kit. After several weeks it hadnt arrived and he stopped answering PMs so I informed Admin who kindly added it to the bad deals list. For a few weeks he told me that he had carriage insurance so could get my money back even if the goods were alledgedly lost in the post.

More recently a newbie called bikerroz85 contacted me. Apparently he had seen my post regarding cruise control and wanted to sell me one that he had not being used. He sent photos of the item and seemed genuine enough so I agreed to buy that too before he disappeared off the face of the earth!! I have sent 3 PMs since making payment on 17th Sept and had one reply on 22nd saying it would be sent ASAP.
He hasnt been online since 28th so I can only assume he came on here to see what parts he could generate interest for. Has anyone else had any dealing with him?
I may be naive trusting a newbie, but at least I had the sense to use Paypal so should get my money back for this one.
If anyone else has a (a) cruise kit to sell, (b) is within an easy drive from Nottingham (so that I could collect) or (c) has the forum history to enable them to be trusted please feel free to PM me.

depending what the kit is?
I have an MV6 with cruise on I am breaking,

I dont need the cruise kit.

I'm really very sorry you've had this trouble Andy! :( I feel it reflects on the Forum badly and as such on all of us collectively when one member is badly let down by another! >:( I know there are warnings posted by Admin & 'Caveat Emptor' & all that, but it does leave a bad taste regardless! :(

Very saddening to read of your shabby treatment by fellow OOF`ers, Andy......When you eventually get a cruise unit, you will enjoy using it, they work well and are an easy to fit project. :y

Exactly. :(

It's unfortunate that we have to have such limits but it appears to be the only way to ensure sellers can be trusted, and isn't fail safe even then.

Andy, please keep the admin team updated on progress. At the very least we can do our best to keep buyer and seller in contact so the issue can be resolved. In addition, it helps us keep the dispute lists in the relevant sections of the forum updated so other members can be warned about sellers who have "form" in this respect.

My Omega is a facelift, but only a 2.0 so not DBW - hence, as far as I am aware I need the main unit with cable, the indicator stalk and the brake switch. Any advice would be welcome if I have any of that is wrong.  :-/

No, your right  :y

Facelift or not does not matter, its the engines. You will need all the cables and cruise unit. Problem with 2.0 is the bracket for the cam cover, only 2.0 CDX had cruise and there are not many of them about.

I am an engineer by trade, and currently a draughtsman for an engineering company so not concerned about bracketry beeded. As long as the wiring is installed it shouldnt be a problem.
Guess i should pop the bonnet and check that rather than just assuming its part of the loom!!

AFAIK, all have the loom except 8v 2.0l

It will be screwed to suspension turret

Am I right to assume that its only the DBW models that need to be enabled using Tech2??  ::)

yeah its just plug and play  :y

The bracket for Cruise is nothing special, it just bolts onto cam cover, and holds the throttle cable and actuator cable. I am sure there are photos around of said bracket which should aid you in making on  :y

Only other thing if its a manual you will need a clutch switch too  :y
