I'll go out in a while to get the cats in and then have a wee Jim Beam later near the appointed hour when I'll sit for a while and muse of life and what the year of my forthcoming retirement will bring.

dont worry debs your not the only one  was meant to go to a party but got the flu  mrs and kids have gone so home alone    first time in 20 years ive not partied on new years eve  still will watch a film and get through a large bottle of baileys

Don't worry Debs or anyone else who'se decided to stay home. Some of us reach that certain age...stage.. of life where going out on NYE is just a bit too much. Very few proper "local" pubs left now due to brewery charges & smoking ban & i'm not into the town Wetherspoon pub or club scene. I've become a home bird over the last few years, cooked a ham joint with mash, veggies & a light onion stock (Boxing day dinner) & the voddies are going down well. Phone & texts are busy from friends & family, fireworks are going off outside. I can visit friends within walking distance & don't have to get up tomorrow!!!
    However you decide to spend your new year, enjoy & wishes with you all, Guy.XXXX
