Anyone wear safety shoes? Recommendations?
« on: 12 January 2011, 15:47:43 »

Work supply safety shoes for shop floor, but they are bloody uncomfortable, so most supply thier own and work pay to certain limit.

Just had a pair of Aboutblu trainers, which are comfy enough and have a composite as opposed to a steal toe cap which makes them lite, but they fell apart and are still too clumpy and big.

I guess safety trainers are what I'm looking for, but most seem to suggest DM's are best over time. But they rub my heal like mad.

So, anyone know of a pair of light and comfy safety trainers? Ta

I've always found Caterpillar boots to be unbelievably comfortable and durable. They also do footwear which is more "trainer" like. :y

My old cats are like slippers and have soaked up abput 5 litres of oil each so are completely waterproof, missus keeps trying to chuck them but that would lead to divorce :)

Makro do Timberlands with toecaps for about £40 iirc

Ooh another importent criteria, they need to breath well, these are indoors only, outdoor stuff with thinsulite etc just cook your feet in our factory, which is not heated as the presses kick out so much heat we don't need it. Nightmare in summer.

Will check out those mentioned so far.  :)

Most comfortable I ever had was a pair of Doc martins Steel toe capped. :y

Not heard of them for years

but in the past have had the trainer type right at the bottom 9581/9  composite toe cap so are quite light. No idea of cost though  :-/

Indeed. Riggers all the way. Easy to kick off when you get a crazy itch on your foot. Try that with your lace ups! 8-)
