Hotmail must be THE most insecure email system on the net......it`s been hacked (on an ongoing basis) for years! :(

It is also very likely that the domain names, you have traced as the culprits, are fake.
Anyone with enough know how to hack your email is not going to leave thier footprints straight back to thier own domain.

Yes you should be. I don't want to scaremonger but it's not just that your private e-mails can be read by someone else, they can use your e-mail address for spamming millions of internet users with junk mail, pornography, viruses etc. all in your name.

I pay for my own domain and have my email with my domain host.
If it's just a free address you are after then I'm sure your own internet service provider will supply you with an e-mail address, be it BT, Sky, Virgin or whoever, all of them do and much more secure than hotmail.
What is important is that you use a secure password containing uppercase, lowercase and numbers, most password cracking software will start using common names, common words then numbers then work through the alphabet with combinations of these, this can take days so the further down the alphabet your 'password letters' are the longer it will take to find a match.
Hackers are not interested in waiting days they will pick off the easy targets like bobby, amy, rob123, etc.

I very much dout that its your hotmail account that has been hacked

there more likely answer is that your pc is infected with some type of trojan or bot net

you cant rely on ainty virus softwear as its only as good as the up date and any half decent programer can knock something that undetetable prity quick

once you plug any pc into the net you run a security risk
thats why anything inportain aint pluged in the net

why do you think the police national computer, dhss system and goverment and  inportaint militry stuff aint pluged in to the net

even then it on take one idiot with a usb drive or some unuthorised softwear and it compromised

only way to be shaw is to format the pc and re install it
lock down what ever the operating system your useing is

and dont install nothing you download and monitor all incoming and outgoing conetions from the computer

as you can see the average home computer user stands no chance really as they do not have the knowlowege

to keep there selfs secure

windows has more holes that a 50year old dart board

Ah but anyone can do that, pretty much.. All you have to do is forge the 'From' address on the outgoing email and voila, I can send email as you, the queen, anyone. You don't even need any special tools - heck, you can do it with Windows Telnet if you're so inclined :)

SPF records are supposed to help stop that, but until they are 100% implemented on the 'net (which is a long time off, I reckon) it'll still be easily possible.

Email is not secure, and unless you inspect headers and check SPF records, the sender cannot be trusted to be legitimate.

PC is pretty secure, AV, firewall, never download what I do not know.

Just over 2 years ago another account got broken into, but both of these at the time had simple passwords.

I suspect a dictionary attack. Now have a mixed case and numbers password on all web mail accounts.
