Training on how to catch a bus

Re: the BBC's move to Manchester.

An email was sent to staff this week offering the chance to ‘find out more about how to get to  MediaCityUK and transport around Greater Manchester’.

It offers a total of six different sessions on the issue starting at 10am and carrying on through to 3pm. One deals with cycling and parking provision while others centre on an ‘overview of transport in Greater Manchester’ and journey planning.

A good friend works for the BBC, lot of disgruntled people being asked to move. They are doing everything they can, and want to be seen by employee's that they helping people.

Don't see what there is to get worked up over, its usual daily mail shite picking 'best' bits from this relocation, no one would have given a damn if Saatchi & Saatchi offered this would they?

You can tell your pal it's ok Tunns, we stopped eating people up here in the frozen North ages ago, well except in some parts of Salford. Now where has MediaCity been built again?  ;D ;D

He is not one of the teams being moved, he is staying in White City.

But nothing on that "article" is any different from any big corporation's relocation offering.

When I took my job at Sky, I researched transport links, the free shuttle bus routes ect. I looked into night bus routes back from the city after a staff bash. But thats because I was taking the job so it was my job to do that....

But here, the BBC is moving people, so people won't know the area, night buses, cycle arrangements (BBC have huge cycle parks!)

Sorry, but I could explain practically the complete London transport system to a foreign visitor in about an hour. BBC employees need six 10.00am-3.00pm sessions on Manchester's transport system? Will that include hand-held guided trips?  ::)

They are moving 2,500 staff, do you think that, errr, maybe, it would be a good idea to do sessions in batches?  ;)

Then people who cycle can go to those sessions, those that take bus can go to those, those use train go to those?

But feel free to give your hours brief to 2,500 people and answer all their questions  ::)
