It is good said we could get 30 down 10 up

Connected as 40 down 10 up according to the engineer

Said we were best of last 100

However we did get 2.9 down .448 up with BTBB and that was the highest around where we live.

And we are in an area 1 Mbps is reckoned to be good. We held off on Broadband for over a year due to this (were ISDN)

37 Mb/s is sooooo pedestrian........ ::)

.......100 Mb/s has just arrived at Deb`s towers! :P

Although, I haven`t a clue why; they`ve seemingly sent a new cable-modem and speed-upgrade FOC. :-/

Does this still rely on the land line though, we are told here that the connection speed is limited cos of the exchange???   But not asked about this.. :-/ :-/

As it was explained to me the fibre optic cable runs to the street cabinet (from a suitably equipped exchange) then over the copper wires to the incomer at the address concerned.
