Didn't take Kate long

As per the title, it didn't take all that long to teach Kate her position in life  ;D ;D

Obviously not an acceptable joke on this forum, quite surprised to be honest as the pic showed nothing that could be deemed offensive IMO (ie, no bare flesh or owt like that).

Still, if thats the rules here then so be it (still somewhat surprised at the Mary Whitehouse reaction though).

Fair enough bud.
I personally have much better things to worry about (such as staying alive), but I see where you are coming from thanks to 13 years of nanny wrapping us up in cotton wool to protect us from the evil in the world.

I personally found it quite amusing, but I do appreciate that not everyone will share my sense of humour (a sense of humour that I admit has become quite warped recently due to my current circumstances).

PS

I guess the cancer jokes are off the menu as well?

I believe those 'current circumstances' Martian speaks of would be cancer... (from memory of earlier threads, anyway)

I'm currently halfway through chemo for it Pete.
Although cancer jokes offend many, I find them quite amusing at this moment in time.
Sick? Maybe, but it's one small contribution towards me getting through the crap days, and it keeps me smiling on the good days.

Mind you, if you think the jokes are sick I guess you won't want to know about the sweepstake I organised in my local for things like my official day of baldness, etc.
So far we have just over £200 in the pot, and the final total is going straight back to St Luke's when it's over, so some good is coming out of a bit of "dark" humour.

Must be the pic I posted yesterday.

Only just realised that my post got deleted in that thread once I noticed this thread.

Don't see the problem myself but I'm not gonna argue the decision.

I wish you well with your treatment and your success :y
I can also understand now how you deal with your ordeal.

Good Luck My Friend  :)

Well actually Pete, yes it is, since the guy is living with the ticking time bomb that is Cancer, & I and a few others on here have had & survived or still waiting for the final 'All Clear' from it. The only way to deal with it personally is to make a joke of it, & he is also right when he says that we have swung way too far into the Self Righteous, cotton wool wrapped utopia the Loony Left began when New Laybore were sleepwalked into Power! ;)

Agree with much of what you say Phil, but the joke was a sexual one. It has been mentioned before that some members view the forum with young children looking over their shoulder, and I would imagine Daz had that in mind when he binned it.
It certainly cant have been that Daz, was personally offended as I have heard some of his jokes - more a responsible admin head on rather than what he would personally laugh at imo. ;)

it is true. those that suffer find relief in the lighter side of the condition/aliements  that those who care for or have seen other family members or friends suffer.

While I would broadly agree with you Albs, & I have no problem at all with what Daz did as an Admin, I have to question why anyone would allow young children to be present while browsing Gen Dis, as a lot of posts have questionably language, albeit lightly disguised to bypass the Forum Robot Killjoy! Some would argue that this is a 'Family' Forum? I for one do not, it is a Forum for Adults by Adults, and whilst that doesn't mean we should allow it to descend into the Gutter, neither does it mean we should allow ourselves to stifle the unique British sense of humour which has always been risque, as near the knuckle as you can get without breaking the skin and totally irreverent to all & sundry, regardless of Race, Creed, Colour, Political or Sexual Persuasion, and long may it be so imho!  ;D :y
