I have the Clarke and it couldn't get the crankshaft bolt off the Focus.

Not sure it can get much off anything so I don't recommend it.

i have one as well and i dont rate it[and i do rate other clarke stuff] wont even undo wheel nuts

Ooh that is poor, a basic requirement surely. Although I want an impact wrench for donut bush bolts mostly, and they can be stubborn coming off so need to be carefully, it will mostly be used for wheels.

I am tempted by the snap on....  It's bloody steep though. Versus £75 for the Hitachi body from the USA to go with the battery's in the set I have.

I rekon £75 on the usa hitachi body is worth a punt...? Don't you?

Well, yes they are. But I already have a hitachi cordless drill/circular saw/torch set with the same batteries. Going by the code anyway.

There's a note in the gun listing saying that it doesn't work with all 18v batteries, are you sure yours fit it?

ive got a snap on gun and it will undo anything.even used it on truck wheel nuts no probs.always use halfords sockets and ratchets.ive had my 1/2 inch drive ratchet for over 10yrs and havent broke it yet

The Snap-on one is good but a bit of overkill for the occasional user IMO Only reason I have it is from my days on the tools

Oh... And I agree... I've used it on Lorry wheel nuts too

If UK customs decide its worth more than £18, yes.  Plus the courier's handling fee (RM is £8, Arsole Force are £14 iirc)

I've had to pay import duty on prizes in the past so unless you're lucky yes.

I have found that when buying parts for my toys(r/c helicopters)that anything bought from the states will always get hit with duty whether marked as gift or not,yet parts from hong kong/china never incur any problem
