All three.. Or was, there is defo a transition going on. I think it's an age thing. Yoof cope with the bustle of towns better i think. I'm growing to hate it tbh. I haven't been into Reading town centre shopping for years.
Where we are it's necessary to have easy m4 access any further away/nearer town and local traffic adds to the journey considerably. It's purely a practical location. Which means road noise. M4, local by pass, yoof doing donuts at the roundabouts at midnight. Plus there's Heathrow flight path, the red baron, light aircraft, plod chopper on occasion what a nuisance that is. Although I miss Concorde. It was always a pleasure to have that rattle the door knocker twice a day.
Don't get me wrong, non of it's intrusive noise wise. Your just aware of it. Like the London rumble. It's always there. Constant. Never goes away. Unless the m4 is shut, then there's no point going anywhere.
It makes it all the more silent when visiting rural areas.
We visited Swanage(?) once. On the way we took in some sights, one of which was a very large hill, which we walked up and sat at the top. Watched the view, and the people, tourists come and go(noticed that we where the only British people around for a good half hour :-? ) then noticed they had all gone. Silence. H didn't notice at first and suggested we go too. I said your joking, listen it's silent. Nout but the wind, such as it was, the sun and the birds. Warblers mostly.

. I fell asleep contented.
