Seems a good deal for £80 plus vat for two li ion 18v battery cordless.

What I like about it is the , apart from the battery power, modular design. Several other bodies fit the batteries. As you may have read onsome of my previos posts.

Although I think Aaron said these batteries are being fazed out in favour of the slide on ones. So buyer beware.

It's a good drill and batterie combo. Lasts well.

Just a thought.

Ps. This one appears to have the little led light gizmo in the grey bit on the base. Which my drill doesn't.

Well spotted Chris 

I ended up buying a cordless circular saw & jigsaw from Wickes when I started doing the garage; they take 18V NiCd or LiOn slide-on batteries that are interchangeable through their range too.. 'course when I picked the two saws up I didn't realise the charger & batteries came separate and had to go back in 

I'll probably get their matching cordless hammer drill/driver and impact wrench as I've been quite impressed by the other bits for the price.. and I have half the set now anyway

My little brother has, errrrr, 'acquired' for me a Hitachi drill, though I think only 14v. Still, better than the Wank&Decker ones I currently use

batterys are not that powerful unless for small usage as they are only 1.5ah. my ryobi ones seem to be on there way out as i havent been using them and ive been looking at this special offer at screwfix which is a great deal from bosch.

I have an Elu mains drill (present from my old boss, just dont tell him ). Its shite.  Always stick to my old Wolf one (another present from my old boss, as well as the 2 Wank&Decker cordless ones. And the 3 section ladder. And all the toolkits, and...)

To bring a thread back from the dead.. remember how I was all pleased at my Wickes purchases? Well, they're still going strong and I suddenly have desperate need of a reasonably powerful reciprocating saw (to liberate bits of rusty Jag from their normal homes) so I went to look..

Guess what? They've discontinued the range and now the only stuff they sell is Makita. Grrrrr!  Knew I should have bought it all in one go..

If it makes you feel any better, my hitachi? I could have had another drill with two battery's for £80. Why? Well the drill has had a hard life, although still fine, and the battery's, well you can't have too many batteries. They're probably nearing the end of thier life now.

As you said, they discontinued that battery type by the looks, in favour of the slide on ones. Doh!

I'll have to go and find a mains powered saw tomorrow (if I can get off the drive .. damned gas works!) - at least I'm not tied to a battery design, then - unless they suddenly change our mains voltage

Bracknell is fubar last I went there. Road works/traffic everywhere. Still going on by the sound of it.

Yeah the centre is all dug up - as I found when rushing to the MOT place this afternoon.. but more problematic is the fact that the gas people dug up my entire road; living at the end of a dead end becomes a problem when they've dug across the entrance to the road :-/

Almost done now, though, just the last couple of holes for them to fill in (naturally the ones on my drive..) - comically it seems they've tarmacced over next door's water meter, though...

Ahh. This reminds me. I need to either rebuild one of the battery packs for my Toss'nDecker with some fresh sub-C cells or get a new drill.
