yay finaly its back!
« on: 13 September 2011, 20:44:44 »

not sure if this is ment to be in general? its just a general post about my other car lol

anyway, today the alfa came home! its been almost months getting this problem sorted, 3 garages that didnt know what they were doing, then finaly getting things replaced, and finaly being told it needed a new inlet manifold (from a indy garage that wouldnt do the work as it was a warranty job) the things inside had come off luckily unlike a bmw it doesnt put the parts into the engine and kill it!
Ive had a fiat 500 last couple days as a curtesy car, and i got to say i really liked it! for a smaller car and price.
ok, it was bright red and looked like a stawberry so i had to wear a hat, i think it must of been the 'lounge' model, it had a fair few of the options too and the 100hp 1.4 which isnt half a laugh, might not look great on paper but it does put a smile on yer face. its def been added to my list for a few years time when they are cheaper (and not red) as a run around.
the blue&me is def a option i wish the 1st owner of my alfa took up! really want to try the twin air just for fun as i love small revvy engines! and a multiair cus the tech sounds pretty fun think thats only on the punto so far tho.

back to my alfa, the mpg has gone back up nicely, and the lower down rpm power is back the inlet had shut 3 of the little valves off. really love having it back so far, now to see how reliable it proves, this problem has basicly been there since day one. i did get the cambelt and waterpump changed whilst it was there too. next month is service at the epic alfa garage, hes also going to remove the EGR totaly, and diesel part filter, then remap it.

sorry for the ramble, just happy its back and fingers crossed all working well! not much left to go wrong lol

i think the happiness of having your alfa returned has blurred your vision. fiat 500 is horrid imo. no amount of equipment as standard could take away the fact that they're for women and men who love the ymca!  :-X

haha, this could be true!
it literaly had 30 miles on the clock, and i do have a thing for small revvy engines, i gave it total hell around the countryside, and it did put a smile on my face!
as i live out in the sticks, its good to have a smaller car thats good on fuel, i tend to use older cars to thrash around

lol, they are ment to be much better now, its not possible to be less reliable then a vectra with the same engine  ;)
and theres no way id have a vectra over it. ive got 2 months warranty left, so see what happens! in its defence the prob from day one has now been sorted. Im pretty picky and there isnt really anything else on the market in that price range id want. (and i am a vauxhall fan even though my name is ford lol)

My Dad had two (before I was born) - apparently one leaked like a sieve through the corner of the windscreen, the paint peeled off the rear wing when the second one was washed (by hand) for the first time after it was delivered, brand new, and the rear anti-roll bar rusted through before he'd sold it..  ;D
